Why does DI feel slow?
Data Interpretation feels slow when the student reads the whole chart repeatedly. Before solving, identify units, totals, missing values and repeated calculations. A small setup table can save time across several questions in the same set.
How should approximation be used?
Approximation is useful when options are far apart and exact calculation is unnecessary. It becomes dangerous when options are close. During review, mark whether exact calculation was needed. This builds judgment instead of using shortcuts blindly.
What should be logged after the mock?
For every slow DI question, log whether time was lost in reading, choosing formula, calculating or comparing options. Each cause has a different fix. More DI sets help only when the student knows which part of the process is slow.
Worked review: reading the data before calculating
Before solving a table-based set, write the unit, time period and any total shared across questions. If values are in thousands, a correct calculation can still produce a wrong option when the unit is ignored. Next, scan the questions for repeated denominators or totals and compute them once. Approximate only when the option gap is wide enough to survive the rounding error. The review log should identify whether time was lost in reading, setup, arithmetic or option comparison.

How to check whether the repair worked
Use a short set that contains Banking Quant but is not identical to the examples you just reviewed. Compare accuracy, time and the reason for every error with the previous attempt. One correct answer is not enough evidence; look for the same method to hold across several items. If the original error returns, narrow the drill further. If accuracy is stable but time remains high, keep the method and shorten the timer gradually.
