SSC English Error Spotting: How to Review Grammar Mistakes

What should error spotting practice measure?
Error spotting is not only a grammar-memory task. In SSC mocks it measures whether a student can notice agreement, tense, modifier, article and preposition errors quickly while reading a full sentence. After each attempt, classify the mistake as rule not known, rule known but missed, or option misread. This separation keeps revision precise.
How should a grammar notebook be built?
Do not copy every wrong sentence into a long notebook. Write the rule, one correct example and one trap example. If subject-verb agreement keeps failing, collect examples where the real subject is separated from the verb by a phrase. If articles are weak, collect countable and uncountable noun cases. The notebook should be short enough to revise before the next mock.
What should happen after a mock?
Review every wrong English question before attempting another set. If the mistake was avoidable, rewrite the sentence and mark the exact word that should have triggered correction. If the rule was unknown, revise the rule and solve five similar questions under a timer. The next mock should test whether the same rule stops appearing in the error list.
