Why do syllogism errors repeat?
Syllogism errors repeat when the student remembers shortcuts but does not test the relationship in the statement. Words such as all, some, no and only change the entire conclusion. A wrong answer should be reviewed by rewriting the statement in a clean diagram or possibility table, not by memorizing the option.
How should conclusions be tested?
A conclusion is valid only if it must follow from the statements. If it may be true but is not guaranteed, it should not be treated as certain. During review, ask whether a counterexample is possible. If a counterexample can exist without breaking the statements, the conclusion is not definite.
What should a student track?
Track whether the error came from quantifier confusion, reversed relationship, possibility language or rushed reading. This makes revision specific. Solving more syllogisms without knowing the error type usually increases speed but keeps accuracy unstable.
Worked review: possibility is not certainty
Consider: all books are files; some files are pens. The conclusion 'some books are pens' does not necessarily follow. The books may occupy one part of the file set while the pens occupy another. A single valid counterexample is enough to reject a definite conclusion. Draw the smallest diagram that satisfies the statements, then try a second arrangement. If the conclusion changes between valid arrangements, it is only possible, not certain. Record the error as 'existence not connected,' which is more useful than writing 'syllogism weak.'

How to check whether the repair worked
Use a short set that contains SSC Reasoning but is not identical to the examples you just reviewed. Compare accuracy, time and the reason for every error with the previous attempt. One correct answer is not enough evidence; look for the same method to hold across several items. If the original error returns, narrow the drill further. If accuracy is stable but time remains high, keep the method and shorten the timer gradually.
